Miroslav Vitous

- one of the greatest and most important bass players in the history of jazz music. In the 60’s this legendary Czech bassist received a scholarship from Berklee College of Music and emigrated to the US. He took the American music scene by storm. Miroslav Vitous has played with Chick Corea, Miles Davis, Art Farmer, Stan Getz, Charlie Mariano, Jack De Johnette, John McLaughlin, Herbie Mann, Kenny Kirkland, Roy Haynes; formed the group Weather Report along with Wayne Shorter and Joe Zawinul; and various projects as a leader. Since 1970’s he has been the main artist of the prestigious ECM label. He is known both for his profound and powerful sound as well as for his unique musical imagination as a composer, arranger and producer.
