Nazwisko/name: Obrębowska
Imię/first name: Amalia

Amalia Obrębowska Amalia has been playing violin since she was 7, but her adventure with improvisation did not start until the end of 2013. It was a bit later when she discovered that writing and performing her own
compositions also brings her a lot of joy. Since 2014 she has studied jazz and stage music at the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice in Prof. Henryk Gembalski’s class, and since 2017 she has also studied at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw in Prof. Mateusz Smoczyński’s class. She received special mention awards in the “Nowa Nadzieja Jazzu” contest at the Novum Jazz Festival 2016 in
Łomża and in the Blue Note Poznań Competition 2017. She was also among the finalists in the “Powiew Młodego Jazzu” contest at the Krokus Jazz Festival 2017 in Jelenia Góra.
