DAWID FORTUNA

One of the most in-demand drummers on the Polish jazz scene, Dawid Fortuna is a current member of New Bone, Pawel Kaczmarczyk Audiofeeling Band, PeGaPoFo, and N.S.I. in addition to his work with Mike Parker’s Unified Theory.


After attending high school in Bydgoszcz, Poland at the Artur Rubinstein Music School, Fortuna earned a Master’s degree in both Classical and Jazz Music from the Krakow Academy of Music. He has won the Azoty Tarnow International Jazz Competition (2012 with N.S.I.), Jazz Juniors International Jazz Competition (2011 with PeGaPoFo and 2012 with N.S.I), and has received individual distinction awards at both Jazz nad Odrą (2008) and Jazz Juniors (2012). In addition, he has performed with many renowned Polish musicians including Janusz Muniak, Tomasz Stańko, Zbigniew Namysłowski, Leszek Możdżer, Joachim Mencel, Wojciech Groborz, Dominik Wania, Aga Zaryan, Jerzy Małek, and many others.

About

Zbigniew Seifert (1946-1979) was one of the most eminent Polish jazz musicians and a man of incredible musical talent. His untimely death did not let him fully develop his musical abilities and interrupted a promising worldwide career.
