ADAM BAŁDYCH – born in 1986; violinist, composer, music producer, graduate of the Academy of Music in Katowice. Announced a “prodigy”, already at the age of 16 he toured with acclaimed Polish and American musicians, performing on stages of Poland, Germany, Serbia, Indonesia, Hungary, Spain, France, England and the USA.
The artist made his European debut with the album ‘Imaginary Room’. Released in 2012 by a reputable label ACT MUSIC and recorded with top European jazz artists (including Lars Danielsson, Jacob Karlzon, Verneri Pohjola, Morten Lund, Marius Neset), the record opened the doors of the most notable concert halls and jazz venues in Europe.
His music partners include the most outstanding jazzmen: Jim Beard, Iiro Rantala, John Benitez, Leszek Możdżer, Urszula Dudziak, Grażyna Auguścik Paulinho Garcia, NDR Big Band, Luluk Purvanto, Rene Van Helsdingen, Joachim Kühn, and Michel Portal, representatives of popular music (Mika Urbaniak, L.U.C.) and classical musicians (Royal String Quartet, Małgorzata Walewska). Adam Bałdych is the laureate of ECHO Jazz 2013, the most important prize in German phonographic industry, awarded to artists from all over the world, as well as a of the survey “Ale Sztuka” organised by the Gazeta Wyborcza daily, Radio Zachód and the Polish Television, and of Grand Prix Jazz Melomani 2012 in the category of the Artist of the Year. In 2013, he was also a FRYDERYK nominee in the category of the Artist of the Year in Jazz Music.
