Atom String Quartet on a UK tour
On September 8, Atom String Quartet goes on tour around the UK.The Polish jazz quartet, which enjoys great recognition in the British Isles, will perform in London, Birmingham and Leeds.Organized by the Foundation.Zbigniew Seifert's concert tour takes place as part of the Seifert Night series.Atom String Quartet is one of the most intriguing string quartets in the world, one of the best jazz performers in Poland.
The band combines the capabilities of a string quartet with broadly understood improvisation.In his work - in addition to jazz - you can hear inspirations from Polish folklore, music from various regions of the world, as well as contemporary and classical music.The quartet was established in 2010 in Warsaw and consists of violinists: Dawid Lubowicz and Mateusz Smoczyński, violist - Michał Zaborski and cellist - Krzysztof Lenczowski.The band recorded five original albums, two of which received the "Fryderyk" award of the Polish phonographic industry.The band's last album, titled"PENDRECKI" was published in 2019 and included original arrangements of Krzysztof Penderecki's compositions for an improvising string quartet.Its publisher is the Philharmonic.Mieczysław Karłowicz in Szczecin.The quartet has collaborated with artists such as: Branford Marsalis, Bobby McFerrin, Gil Goldstein, Vladislav "Adzik" Sendecki, Mino Cinelu, Paolo Fresu, Leszek Możdżer, Lars Danielsson, Zohar Fresco, Jerzy Maksymiuk, André Ochodlo, Urszula Dudziak, Anna Maria Jopek,Marek Moś, Natalia Kukulska, Kayah, Aga Zaryan, Janusz Olejniczak, Krzesimir Dębski, Adam Sztaba, Grzech Piotrowski, Krzysztof Herdzin, Andrzej Smolik, as well as the following bands: AUKSO Chamber Orchestra of the City of Tychy, NFM Orkiestra Leopoldinum, Sinfonia Varsovia, Sinfonietta Cracovia, Radomska Chamber Orchestra, Szczecin Philharmonic Orchestra, Elbląg Chamber Orchestra, World Orchestra by Grzech Piotrowski, Sinfonia Viva, Kapela Góralska by Sebastian Karpiel-Bułecka.
Organized by the Foundation.Zbigniew Seifert's UK tour will include concerts at Toulouse Lautrec Jazz Club in London (September 8), 1,000 Trades in Birmingham (September 9) and Seven Arts in Leeds (September 10).
