Wojciech Maciejowski began his artistic journey at a young age, exploring the traditional music of the Żywiec Beskids region. Over time, his interests expanded to include the traditional music of the entire Carpathian arc, with particular focus on the musical traditions of Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, and the Balkan countries.
He began his musical education at the State Music School in Żywiec and continued his studies at the Music School in Bielsko-Biała. He completed both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz under the guidance of Professor Małgorzata Szadowiak at the Instrumental Faculty. He later earned a Master’s degree at JVLMA in Riga, studying with Professor Tereze Ziberte-Ijaba.
Despite his strong roots in classical music, the artist felt the need for greater freedom of expression, which led him toward further stylistic exploration. In 2022, he graduated from the Jazz and Popular Music Department in Katowice under the guidance of Henryk Gembalski. He is currently a first-year master’s student at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw (UMFC), studying in the class of Mateusz Smoczyński.
He has also participated in numerous masterclasses and professional training courses, including a violin course led by Tomasz Tomaszewski (UDK Berlin) in Belgium and T. Granmo in Riga, orchestral workshops conducted by Lutz Köhler, as well as chamber music courses led by D. Severin in Riga.
Currently, he performs with the ensembles Kapela PoPieronie, Kapela Hanki Wójciak, and the Wojtek Maciejowski Quartet.
